We believe the following statement of faith to be an accurate articulation of what we assert to be true regarding the teachings of Holy Scripture. As our final authority, the Bible informs us objectively regarding all matters of life and godliness. This statement is our way of publically declaring what we believe of this reality, and more accurately defining its parameters.

Statement of Faith

  1. Bible - We believe the Bible to be the complete Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit and the final authority in all matters of faith and practice (2 Tim 3:16,17; 2 Pet 1:21; 1 Thess 2:13).
  2. God - We believe in one God, Creator of all, holy, sovereign, eternal, existing in three equal persons - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Gen 1:1; John 1:1-3; Isa 6:3; John 10:30).
  3. Christ - We believe in the Lordship of Jesus Christ, and in His diety and humanity united in one person. We believe in His eternal existence with the Fathe, His virgin birth, sinless life, substitutionary death, bodily resurrection, triumphant ascension, mediatorial ministry, and personal return (John 10:30; John 1:1; Phil 2:6,7; Luke 1:34,35; 2 Cor5:21; 1 Pet 2:21,22; Mark 16:6; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Tim 2:5; 1 Thess 4:13-18).
  4. Holy Spirit - We believe in the absolute and essential deity and personality of the Holy Spirit; who convicts of sin, of judgment, and of righteousness; who indwells, regenerates, comforts, sanctifies, illuminates, and empowers those who believe in Jesus Christ (John 16:7,8,13,14; John 14;7; Acts 1:8; Eph 5:18).
  5. Satan - We believe that Satan exists as an evil personality, the originator of sin, the arch-enemy of God and man (1 Pet 5:8; Eph 6:11,12; John 8:44).
  6. Man - We believe that man was divinely created in the image of God; that he sinned, becoming guilty before God, resulting in total depravity, thereby incurring physical and spiritual death (Gen 1:26,27; Gen 3; 1 Cor 2:14; Jer 17:9; Ps 14:1-3; Rom 3:23; Rom 8:6; Rom 5:12).
  7. Salvation - We believe that salvation is by the grace of God; that, by the appointment of the Father, Christ voluntarily suffered a substitutionary death with the shedding of His precious blood for all those who put thier faith in Him and in His bodily resurrection (Eph 2:8,9; 1 Pet 1:18,19; Heb 9:22; Rom 1:16; Acts 2:21; Acts 4:12; Acts 16:31; Luke 19:10; John 3:3; John 10:28,29; John 3:15; Luke 24:5-7; Heb 9:13-15).
  8. Future Things - We believe in the personal, bodily, and glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ; in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust; in the eternal blessedness of the redeemed and in the judgment and concious eternal punishment of the wicked (John 14:1-3; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Thess 4:13-18; Acts 24:15; Heb 9:28; 1 Cor 15; John 5:24-29; Rev 14:13; Rev 20:11-15).
  9. Local Church - The New Testament being our guide - We believe that a church is a company of immersed believers, called out from the world, seperated unto the Lord Jesus, voluntarily associated for the ministry of the Word, for the mutual edification of its members, for the proclamation of the faith, and for the observance of the ordinances. We believe it is an indipendant body, under the Lordship of Christ, the Great Head of His Church, with a guarantee of equality to all
  10. Ordinances - We believe that there are only two ordinances for the church regularly observed in the New Testament:
    1. Baptism - with is the immersion of the believer in water, whereby the believer obeys Christ's command and sets forth his identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection (Matt 2:19; Acts 19:5; 10:47,48; Rom 6:1-14).
    2. The Lord's Supper - which is the memorial wherein the believer partakes of bread and wine which symbolize the Lord's body and shed blood, proclaiming His death until He comes (1 Cor 11:23-32).
  11. Church and State - We believe in the entire seperation of church and state. We believe that civil government is of dicine appointment for the interest and good order of society; that magistrates are to be prayed for, conscientiously honoured and obeyed except only in the things opposed to the will of our Lord Jesus Christ; Who is the only Lord of the conscience (Matt 22:21; 1 Pet 2:13,14; Acts 4:18,19).
  12. Religious Liberty - We believe in religious liberty; that every man has the right to practice and progagate his beliefs
  13. Lord's Day - We believe that the first day of the week is the Lord's Day, and that, in a special sense, it is the divinely appointed day for worship and spiritual exercise.
